Frequently Asked Questions

Buying and selling a home can be a complicated process, here are a few common questions you might find yourself asking along the way.

What's the process of selling my house?

Every sellers situation is unique, so it’s a case by case basis. Generally speaking, here’s a normal process:

  1. Listing appointment – you show us around your home, what you like about it, what upgrade, repairs, or maintenance you’ve completed, etc.
  2. We evaluate comps. We look at recent activity near your home dating back 6 months usually, and tweak our variables to determine the best pricing strategy based on your timing of selling the home.
  3. We recommend items to get the home “list-ready” – such as landscaping, potential repairs, and evaluate staging options.
  4. We order professional photos of your listing once it’s ready to list. During this time, we also create several videos to distribute across all social media platforms to help give your home the best visibility and exposure.
  5. We list the home! We’ll evaluate the activity and provide you with market updates, feedback, and tweaks along the way until we close your home.

What areas do you serve?

We personally serve all of the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex, along with Southern Oklahoma. We have sold as far west as Lubbock, south near the border, and East near Longview, and have high performing referral partners all across Texas and the United States for areas that we do not serve.

Are you licensed in Oklahoma as well?

YES! We’d love to assist you if you are considering buying or selling in Oklahoma – it’s a beautiful state.

How long does it take on average to sell a house?

This heavily depends on two factors – your price point and your realtors marketing strategy. While homes less than $500,000 in DFW usually sell fast, often times in the first weekend, there are times or circumstances they last longer than a month. The higher the price, the smaller buyer pool there is available, so as your realtor – we exhaust all possible marketing tactics to increase our odds of selling your home fast and for the highest price recorded in the neighborhood.

Our marketing tactics include video content – reaching over 300,000 eyeballs per month across all social media platforms, open houses, paid ads, special events held at the home (depending on client preference) to attract attention to the home, proactively calling our database to pique interest in your specific home, and many other tactics we can discuss together.

Who pays commission?

This is negotiable, but usually it’s a sellers closing cost to pay realtor commissions.

Can I buy my home with The Harrison Group?

YES! Absolutely, we’d be honored to help you as we represent both buyers and sellers. You might even receive gifts from us each quarter as we like to “shower our clients” with appreciation throughout the year.
